Diabetes
(C10) recorded at Elsenham July 2000

As one would
expect the prevalence increases with age. Significantly there are no diabetic
patients left in the 90 + age group reflecting the increased mortality with
this disease.Due
to our small population sample (4,200) you may get odd effects.
There are few females 70-79 which I think is just an effect of this.We
have not in this instance divided up the type I and type II s. By far the bulk
as can be seen from the age distribution are type II diabetics.
You may get very different distribution particularly with different socio-economic
groups and with different racial sets. Diabetes is more common in poor communities
and also in certain racial groups. Indian populations have a high rate when
they migrate to the west.I
should be very interested in other populations if you would care to send me
your data.
